Get radon work from homeowners who already know their result

Radon Connect is a homeowner decision platform for radon. People arrive here having measured their house, and they read about scope, diagnostics and post-mitigation verification before they ever ask for help. This page is for the licensed businesses that would do the work.

Where this stands today: no businesses are enrolled, 0 of 35 markets can currently deliver work, and no homeowner request has ever been sent to a contractor by this platform. Applications are open anyway, because somebody has to be first and the position is better stated than discovered.

No fee while we are testing demand. Applying enrols you in nothing: it records what you told us, with the date, for a person to read — no roster, no reserved area, no billing, and no homeowner request.

The work this is for

Two categories, and they are the same two the application asks you to choose between. A business that does one is never asked to claim the other.

  • Radon mitigation — designing and installing systems
  • Radon measurement — testing and post-mitigation verification

The credential that matters is the one your state issues for the work you are applying to do. Illinois licenses radon measurement and radon mitigation separately through IEMA-OHS, and a measurement licence alone does not qualify a business for mitigation work. States that do not license radon directly are read against current NRPP or NRSB certification instead, and each state page below states which credential applies there.

Which markets are open

Applications are open in every market this platform publishes — 35 of them, across 10 states. That is a statement about applications and not about demand: 0 of those markets has a provider, so none of them can currently deliver work to anybody.

Recruitment is concentrated first on Illinois, and inside Illinois on the counties the published licensee register is organised around — Cook, DuPage, Kane, Will. That is where the homeowner material is deepest, not a claim that a request is waiting there.

How a homeowner request would be handled

None has been. This is the designed path, written out so you can judge it rather than take it on trust.

  1. The homeowner qualifies themselves first. They report their radon result band, whether a sale is in progress, their timeline, property type, foundation type and the property postcode — before anything is dispatched.
  2. The result band decides dispatch. At or above 4 pCi/L, or between 2 and 4 with an active transaction. Below-2 results and untested homes are given testing guidance rather than being sent to a mitigation business.
  3. The postcode resolves to exactly one territory, enforced at build time. A postcode outside covered territory is told so plainly rather than routed to somebody approximate.
  4. A qualified request would reach no more than 3 businesses covering that county. The roster per territory is capped rather than sold to everyone who will pay for it.
  5. Where no provider covers the area, nothing is routed and the homeowner is told so. The routing fails closed, which is why it currently routes nothing at all.

The qualification process in full and how territories work are written out separately.

What participation does and does not mean

This is the part most recruitment pages leave ambiguous, so it is written as two statements rather than a paragraph.

Applying means one dated record exists holding exactly what you typed, and a person reads it. If there is a conversation worth having, somebody contacts you directly. If there is nothing to discuss in your area, we would rather say so than leave you waiting.

Applying does not mean you are enrolled, listed, rostered, verified, approved, reserved a territory, or owed a request. It does not mean your credential has been checked with the body that issued it, and it does not describe your business to any homeowner as working with us.

Five separate conditions have to hold at once before a request could reach you: your identity confirmed, your credential confirmed with the authority that issued it, your coverage confirmed in your own words, a delivery channel confirmed as watched, and terms accepted in writing with an operator switching routing on. A form satisfies none of them, which is why sending one cannot switch anything on however completely you fill it in.

What it costs

No fee while we are testing demand. No application fee, no monthly charge, no long-term contract, and no percentage of your contract. That is the whole of it, and it is here rather than reserved for a call, because a price that only appears after you have spent an hour is a price with something wrong with it.

Contractor questions

How many leads will I get?

None have ever been sent. Radon Connect has delivered no homeowner request to any contractor, in any market, since it launched, and no figure will be quoted to win a signature. What can be described exactly is the model and the current position, which is what the rest of this page is.

What does it cost?

No fee while we are testing demand. There is no application fee, no monthly charge and no long-term contract, and no percentage of your contract is taken. If that ever changes it is a conversation with a person and an agreement in writing, not a page that quietly starts charging.

I am on the Illinois licensee register. Am I already in this?

No. This site publishes the IEMA-OHS register of active radon licensees because it is public information. Appearing there means the state licensed you and nothing else. It is not a claim that you participate here, that anybody checked you, that you agreed to anything, or that you are available. Applying is how a business enters, and it is the only way.

Does sending the form put me on a roster?

No. It creates one dated record holding exactly what you typed, for a person to read. It does not add you to a roster, reserve an area, start billing, or send you a homeowner request. Five separate conditions have to hold before anything could route to you, and a form satisfies none of them.

Do you take a percentage of the job?

No. This is a referral service, not a general contractor. It does not perform testing or mitigation, does not subcontract work, and is not a party to your agreement with the homeowner. Your pricing, scope, scheduling and warranty terms are entirely your own.

Which markets are open to applications?

All of them, and none of them is operational. Applications are open everywhere this platform publishes. No market has a provider, so no market can currently deliver work. Recruitment is focused first on the Illinois counties the published licensee register is organised around.

What homeowners are told before they reach you

The homeowner side of this platform teaches people to compare scopes rather than totals, to ask for the diagnostic behind a suction point count, and to insist the post-mitigation verification test is priced in. If you want to see what a referred homeowner would have already read before your first call, start with how to choose a radon contractor and the rest of the decision guides.

Apply

Your business name, your credential, and the counties you actually drive to. It takes a few minutes, it enrols you in nothing, and a person reads it.
