What happens to your request
Every state a request can reach, published before you submit rather than discovered after. 10 outcomes, of which 3 mean a provider genuinely holds your details and 7 mean nobody does.
As things stand today, no market on this platform is operationally active. A request submitted now reaches “recorded for review” and stops there — real, stored, and not delivered to anybody. We would rather you knew that before typing your phone number than after.
The outcomes
Read from the same registry the confirmation page reads. There is no code path on this platform that produces a delivery message without a delivery outcome behind it — the build fails if one is written.
Outcomes where nobody has your details
- Your request was not saved
Something went wrong before your details were stored, so there is no record of this request and nothing has been sent anywhere.
Try again in a few minutes. If it fails twice, the intake service is down rather than your details being at fault.
- Your request reached us
A person at Radon Connect now has your request and can act on it. Being precise about the rest, because the distinction matters: no contractor has your details, and this request is not held in a database you could later be looked up in — it exists as a message to our team.
Whether a mitigation professional is available in your area still has to be reviewed, and that review is ours to do rather than yours to chase. Nobody has been assigned to you yet. The checklists below are worth having ready either way, and your state licensee register is searchable today if you would rather not wait.
- Your request was received for review
Your details are recorded. To be straight with you: no contractor has them. We are building coverage in your area and have not yet activated a provider there, so there is nobody for us to route this to today.
The decision tools and checklists below are genuinely useful in the meantime, and your state resource centre lists the official licensee register you can search yourself.
- Your area is outside our operational coverage
Your details are recorded as interest in this area. No contractor introduction is happening through us, because we have no active provider covering your location.
Your state programme publishes a list of licensed professionals you can contact directly. That is the fastest route today, and we would rather point you at it than hold your request.
- Your request needs a person to look at it
Your details are recorded. Something about this request — the timeline, the service needed, or the property — means an automatic routing decision would be a guess, so it is queued for review instead.
No contractor has your details yet. If a deadline applies, the timeline tool will show you what still fits.
- Your request is queued for delivery
Your details are recorded and a provider covering your area has been identified. Delivery has not completed yet, so nobody has your details at this moment.
You will not need to do anything. If you hear nothing, the checklists below are worth having ready for when you do.
- We could not deliver your request
Your details are recorded, but the delivery to a provider failed. Nobody has your request right now, and we would rather tell you that than let you wait for a call that is not coming.
This is our problem to fix rather than yours. Your state licensee register is the reliable route if you need someone this week.
Outcomes where a provider holds your request
- Your request has been sent
A radon measurement provider covering your area now has your request and will contact you directly using the method you chose.
Before they arrive, the testing checklist covers the conditions that make a result defensible.
- Your request has been sent
A radon mitigation contractor covering your area now has your request and will contact you directly using the method you chose.
Before you sign anything, the hiring checklist covers credential verification and the questions that make a proposal comparable.
- Your request has been sent
A provider covering both measurement and mitigation in your area now has your request and will contact you directly. Where one company would both test and install, it is worth asking how they keep those decisions separate.
The second-opinion tool covers when another proposal would change your decision, and the hiring checklist covers what to verify first.
What we hold, and why each field is there
The form asks for what a contractor needs to give you a useful answer, and nothing else. Every field earns its place or it would not be there:
- Your result, timeline, and whether a transaction is involved. These are what let anybody tell you something specific rather than general. Without them a provider is starting the conversation from nothing.
- Property type and foundation. The foundation is the single fact that most narrows what approaches are even applicable.
- Your postcode. Checked against coverage before you are asked for contact details, so you find out whether we can route the request before you give us anything personal.
- Name, email, phone, and how you prefer to be contacted. Needed for a provider to reach you. The contact-method preference is passed on, not ignored.
- Your consent, with the version of the text you agreed to. Recorded so that what you agreed to is a matter of record rather than of our memory. The box is never pre-checked.
What we never do
- We do not sell your details as a list. A request goes to providers covering your area for the purpose of quoting your job. It is not aggregated and resold, and there is no data-broker arrangement.
- We do not pass your details to anyone before you consent. The postcode check, the tools, the reference library, and the question builder all run without any of it.
- We do not send anything you typed into a tool. Every decision tool and the question builder run entirely in your browser. There is no server to receive your result, and none of it appears in a request unless you type it into the form yourself.
- We do not tell you a request was delivered when it was not. Which is the whole reason this page exists — the outcome shown on your confirmation is computed from what actually happened, not from the form having submitted successfully.
The full legal position, including retention and how to ask us to delete what we hold, is on the privacy page. How the referral arrangement works and how we are paid is on how we work.
Why we publish this before the form rather than after it
Because the alternative is a thank-you page doing the work of an outcome. “Thanks, we’ll be in touch” is compatible with a provider holding your request and equally compatible with nobody holding it, and a homeowner cannot tell the two apart from the outside.
The version of this platform that shipped before this page told every qualified requester their details had been shared with up to three licensed contractors. It was computed from the postcode and the result band, and it was true of nobody, because there were no contractors. That is the failure this page and the outcome model exist to make impossible.
If that is what you expected, here is the form
Coverage is checked before you are asked for contact details, and the confirmation tells you which of the outcomes above your request actually reached.
