Minnesota radon contractors: territory, leads, and how we work
Radon Connect routes homeowner requests across the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro, covering Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, and Washington counties — one of the highest-radon major metros in the country.
Minnesota is also one of the few states with both genuine radon licensing and a radon-specific disclosure statute, which means Twin Cities homeowners arrive better informed than in most markets. They tend to know what a pCi/L is before they fill out a form.
Licensing expectations in Minnesota
Minnesota licenses radon measurement and mitigation professionals through the Minnesota Department of Health, and the mitigation license is what we verify at onboarding. This is a real state license rather than a voluntary credential, which raises the floor for everyone: we do not have to adjudicate competing national certifications, and homeowners can verify you themselves in one step. Measurement licensing alone does not qualify a business for mitigation referrals.
Territory exclusivity
Territories are assigned at the county level, matching the platform routing territories: Hennepin, Ramsey, and the combined Dakota-Washington territory. A qualified homeowner request is shared with no more than three MDH-licensed contractors covering that county, and roster size per territory is capped. In a metro this dense, that cap is what keeps a referral worth returning a call for.
How homeowners are qualified before you hear from us
Requests arrive only after a homeowner completes a multi-step form: result band, transaction context, timeline, property type, foundation type, and property ZIP resolved deterministically against our Twin Cities territory list. Dispatch happens at or above 4 pCi/L, or between 2 and 4 inside an active transaction. Duplex and small multi-unit requests are common here and are flagged as such, since those jobs are designed for a building footprint rather than a unit.
Service area requirements
Claim only counties you genuinely cover — the metro spans a wide area, and a Woodbury request routed to a firm that only works the west metro helps nobody. Finished-basement routing work is disproportionately common in Minneapolis and St. Paul pre-war housing; if that is outside your comfort zone, say so at onboarding so we can route accordingly rather than after an awkward walkthrough.
How to apply
Send your business name, MDH radon mitigation license number, the counties you serve, and proof of insurance through the contact page. We verify the license with the Minnesota Department of Health before routing anything. No application fee, no monthly charge, no purchased exclusivity — compensation is per referral, disclosed to homeowners site-wide.

Does the Radon Awareness Act change how leads arrive?
It changes what homeowners already know. Because Minnesota sellers must disclose known radon information and provide the MDH publication before a purchase agreement is signed, transaction-driven requests here often come with an actual test report attached and a clear deadline. Those are the easiest requests to quote accurately.
How do duplex and multi-unit jobs get routed?
As building-level work. Homeowners tell us the property type in the form, and duplex or multi-unit requests carry that flag through to you. Soil gas enters through the shared foundation, so the design is for the footprint — we do not split those into per-unit referrals.
Is territory exclusive?
Capped rather than exclusive. At most three MDH-licensed contractors per county receive a qualified request, and we limit roster size per territory. We will not promise you sole rights, and we will not quote you a lead volume before a territory has produced one.
