Terms of use

Effective July 29, 2026. Using this website or submitting a quote request means you accept these terms.

1. What the service is

Radon Connect is a free consumer referral service: we publish educational content about radon and, with your explicit consent, share your quote request with up to 3 independent, Illinois-licensed radon mitigation contractors who may contact you. Radon Connect is a free referral service for homeowners. We are not a radon testing or mitigation contractor, and we do not perform testing, inspections, diagnosis, or mitigation work. When you request quotes, we share your information with up to 3 independent, Illinois-licensed radon professionals, and we may receive compensation from those businesses for the referral. Each contractor is an independent company responsible for its own licensing, pricing, scheduling, workmanship, and warranties.

2. What the service is not

Radon Connect does not employ radon technicians, does not sell or install mitigation equipment, and has no financial stake in whether any individual home is mitigated. Our role ends when we introduce you to independent licensed contractors; every estimate, contract, and warranty is between you and the contractor you choose.

Nothing on this site is medical, legal, tax, or engineering advice. Content about health effects, action levels, licensing, and Illinois disclosure law summarizes the cited authorities (EPA, IEMA-OHS, Illinois statutes) for general information; for advice about your situation, consult the appropriate licensed professional — including your attorney for transaction questions.

3. Contractors are independent

Contractors introduced through the platform are independent businesses, not our employees, agents, or partners in the legal sense. Every quote, contract, schedule, price, permit, workmanship obligation, and warranty is solely between you and the contractor you choose. You are responsible for verifying any contractor’s IEMA-OHS license before hiring — our licensing guide shows how.

4. No guarantees

Quotes, pricing, and contractor availability are set entirely by the independent contractors and are not guaranteed by Radon Connect. We do not promise response times, appointment windows, or specific results.

We also don’t guarantee that any contractor will respond to a given request, that quotes will fall in any range shown on this site, or that mitigation will achieve any specific post-installation measurement — outcomes belong to the licensed professionals and the physics of your house.

5. Your submission

You agree that information you submit is accurate, that the property is one you own or are authorized to request quotes for (buyers under contract and agents acting for clients included), and that the consent you grant covers contact by the matched contractors using the method you selected. Don’t submit other people’s information without authority, and don’t use the form to spam contractors.

6. Acceptable use

No scraping the site to build competing datasets, no automated submissions, no attempts to probe or disrupt the intake service, and no use of the content in ways that misrepresent its sources. Educational content may be quoted with attribution and a link.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The site and service are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Radon Connect is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site, referrals made, or work performed by independent contractors; where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service — which is zero.

8. The practical stuff

  • These terms are governed by Illinois law, exclusive of conflict rules.
  • If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing something today isn’t a waiver tomorrow.
  • We may update these terms by posting a new effective date here; continued use after a change is acceptance.
  • Privacy practices live in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
