Interior routing, which is standard practice and generally looks better anyway: the riser runs through a closet, chase, or mechanical space to an attic-mounted fan and out the roof, leaving nothing on the elevation but a roof penetration. Raise the HOA constraint before the quote is written — retrofitting an interior route after an exterior one is installed means paying twice.
