Licensing expectations in Illinois

Illinois licenses radon measurement and radon mitigation professionals statewide through IEMA-OHS, and the mitigation license is the credential we verify at onboarding. A measurement license alone does not qualify a business for mitigation referrals. Because the Illinois license is statewide, a Rockford-based firm can hold territory in Peoria or Kankakee — the constraint is whether you genuinely service the counties you claim, not where your trucks are parked.

Territory exclusivity

Territories are assigned at the county level inside each Illinois market, matching the routing territories the platform already uses — DuPage, Kane, Will, McHenry, Kendall and suburban Cook in Chicagoland, Winnebago, Boone, Ogle and Stephenson in the Rockford market, and so on. A qualified homeowner request is shared with no more than three contractors covering that county, and we cap the roster per territory rather than selling the same lead to everyone who will pay for it. Exclusivity is a cap on competition, not a promise of volume: we will not tell you a territory is yours alone, and we will not invent lead counts to win your signature.

How homeowners are qualified before you hear from us

Homeowners complete a multi-step form before anything reaches you. They report their radon result band, whether a real-estate transaction is involved, their timeline, property type, foundation type, and the property ZIP — which we resolve deterministically against our Illinois territory list. Requests only reach contractors when the result is at or above 4 pCi/L, or between 2 and 4 with an active transaction. Below-2 results, untested homes, and no-transaction consideration-band requests are not dispatched. Consent is explicit and never pre-checked, and the referral disclosure sits directly above the consent box.

Service area requirements

Claim only counties you will actually drive to within your normal scheduling window. We ask for your service counties in your own words at onboarding and route by ZIP against them. If homeowners in a county consistently report no response, we remove that county from your coverage rather than continue routing into silence — that is the whole basis of the honest-coverage promise the homeowner side of this platform is built on.

How to apply

Send your business name, IEMA-OHS mitigation license number, the Illinois counties you serve, and proof of insurance through the contact page. We verify the license against IEMA-OHS records before any request routes to you. There is no application fee, no monthly platform charge, and no long-term contract — compensation is per referral and disclosed to homeowners on every page of this site.
