Drain-tile depressurization

Where a building has a drain-tile loop in good condition, a system can draw from it rather than from a newly cut suction point. The loop already sits in aggregate and runs the perimeter, so it can distribute suction well.

It is not a shortcut so much as a use of what is there, and whether it is available depends entirely on how the building was constructed.

Why this matters

What it changes about the decision in front of you.

A continuous loop can extend pressure over a large area from one connection, which can mean fewer penetrations.
The tile usually connects to a sump, which makes it accessible without major cutting.

What it could influence

Where the effect is likely to show, and in which direction where that is knowable.

A blocked, collapsed, or discontinuous loop will not distribute as expected, and that is not visible from inside.
An exterior loop discharging to daylight behaves differently from an interior loop connected to a sump.

What this does not settle

What still stands. Noticing a problem is not the same as losing the evidence.

Choosing this does not establish that the loop is continuous or clear.
It does not mean the slab will not need any additional point.
